Accessing Natural Healthcare in Australia
Due to the classification of plant-based therapy products as unapproved therapeutic goods, a traditional registered prescription process is not viable. Doctors will need to utilise the Special Access Scheme (SAS) regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), this involves more steps than a usual registered prescription product. It is worth noting that the TGA does not consider plant-based therapy as a first resort in terms of treatment.
